Rituals are an important
aspect of a wedding day. We documented this bride and groom as they
signed their marriage contract, and from the joyful expressions
on the faces of onlookers, you can sense the happiness this ritual
represents.

In order to emphasize
the drama inherent in their wedding ceremony, this panoramic photograph,
enlarged to fill a double-page spread, helps convey the solemnity
of the service. A time exposure, taken without flash, shows the
dramatic lighting on the marriage canopy, and brings the viewer's
eye straight to the bride and groom.

The excitement of
bride and groom is magnified by enlarging this photograph, taken
at the end of their wedding service, to a 3/4 panoramic page, and
by using two smaller photographs to show the sequence of their action
as they leave the ceremony.

After the ceremony, excited, happy family members and guests congratulate the newlyweds as the cocktail hour begins. Candid shots clearly capture the outpouring of emotions in the scene. The image of the groom with his father, on the right, clearly shows the heightened emotions they were feeling. |
