Wendy Stewart and Joel Greenberg are a husband and wife team whose interest in wedding photography began from a very personal experience. Asked to photograph a friend's wedding, Wendy and Joel observed that the bride was so in love, she seemed to be floating on air. They wanted to capture the bride and groom's love, and worked together to translate their impressions on film. Judging from responses to these first wedding photographs, they succeeded so well that everyone who saw the images urged them to become wedding photographers. That first wedding set them on a course they have embraced ever since as a labor of love, and the appeal of making a living doing something they both enjoyed so much led them to form Joel Greenberg and Wendy Stewart Photography. After photographing weddings for several years, Joel and Wendy thought it looked so easy that they, too, decided to get married! Wendy Stewart earned a BFA Degree in Visual Design, and an MFA in Photography. She owned a gallery which exhibited 19th Century photography, collected the work of many well known vintage photographers, and curated photography exhibitions for many years. Joel Greenberg, a graduate of Parsons School of Design, taught photography at New York University and the International Center for Photography. He has published numerous posters of the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as a book on New York's natural features, Urban Wilderness, Nature in New York City, and was awarded grants from the NEA, New York State Council for the Arts, and various foundations and corporations.
